This was on of the worst books I have ever read. First of all, I am sick of British authors trying to write books set in the US with American characters...but then they talk like they are British, using slang and language that we don't use. Why not just set the book in the UK? Second of all, so much of the story didn't make sense. There is one scene where Jess finds a leather strap (sex toy) in Pierces room when she is looking for a dog leash. It's connected to his bed like it had just been used but she never even comments on it to herself or asks him about it. Doesn't make sense. There are so many holes like that all throughout the book. Third of all, I don't think I have ever read a book lacking this much dialogue. 95% of the book was Jess and Evans thoughts, and 5% was them actually talking to people. I literally scrolled through pages at a time just trying to get to some interesting dialogue between the characters. Spoiler alert...typical book ending where the guy gets the girl. However, the ENTIRE book was riddled with deceit from Evan and Pierce and Jess's heart was broken to pieces but she forgives the guy in less then two pages at the end of the book. Would never happen in real life. This book was absurd and you should not waste your money.

Mr Right edition by J S Cooper Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This book was such a waste if my time. I felt that everyone in this book were immature and living a teenager life. The words "What do you mean?" Were used so much.....got to be annoying!! I would not recommend this book to anyone!
I love J.S. Cooper books and was really looking forward to reading this one. Even though this book is different from her other books I liked it. I had a hard time getting into the book, usually I am right there into the story from the get go. It took me a few chapters to really get into the book. There was a lot of internal dialogue from the characters. Evan and Jess were only supposed to have one night together but they ended up having a connection. Evan and Pierce are frat brothers. They have a game they like to play. This game is wrong in so many ways and the poor suspecting girl can get hurt in the end. Jess is very naive and Evan can be and is a jerk. Even thought his book did not appeal as much to me as other J.S. Cooper books, I am looking forward to reading the next J.S. Cooper release. J.S. Cooper is a very good writer so I recommend to everyone that they try one of her books for themselves.
I hate to be this brutal, but this was by far the worst book I've ever read. Back and forth repetitive dialog, took way too long to get into a 'story' if you can call it one. I put it down half way, tearing out my eye balls to read the rest, i literally forced myself bc i paid for the book. I had to skip through most of it and I didnt think it was possible, but I got to the end, finally..
Again, i hate to be this brutal bc I usually love JS Cooper books but this one wasnt worth my time or money.
Usually JS Cooper writes fabulous books. I've read many. This isn't one of them.

Spoiler

this girl is either dumb as dirt or the most gullible chick on the planet. She fell for a major trick that Evan the guy she instantly likes who she thought was the best friend of her date is the guys father. He has some gray in his hair but he's only 7 years older. Come on. Not even a step dad but an actual father. The dialogue was just awful. I read to the end only because I had to know what the mess was about but believe me I skipped as much as I could and still know what was going on. I never would have guessed this book was JS Cooper.
I don't want to give anything away with spoilers so I'll just be brief. The plot of this book was ridiculous. The writing gave me the feeling like the author just threw a book together with little thought just meet a deadline. One sentence I remember was "hindsight is fifty-fifty", do what?? Isn't hindsight suppose to be 20/20, you know like perfect vision? Waste of time and money.
Pierce and Evan were frat brother who started a game in college and continued it into there thirty . One of them picks up a girl and starts dating her while the other tries to seduce her away from him. Stupid, childish, ignorant and degrading to the female population. Jess is immature falls in love with Evan after having sex with him once. She wants to die when they break up a few weeks later. Evan is rude, checks out other women and flirts with them while is with Jess. Jess is a very depressing female character in this book with no self-esteem or respect for herself. This book has back and forth point of view of the character, which was boring! The character development is nonexistent, no plot and a stupid ending. Don't waste your money , Mr Right is so wrong to of ever been written.
Okay - I do not often say this because I know how hard it is to write a novel but I can't hold back. The lead female "Jess" was made out to be a naive idiot. She had a job yet apparently she never went to work. Nene of the characters went to work. In fact we the readers don't even know what Pierce and Evan do for a living. They are horrific and cruel. Jess' best friend and roommate disappears half way through as does Pierce. The plot twist big "secret" is so far fetched it is absurd. Should have made them brothers anything but his "Dad." There was not one thing redeeming about any character in this book. The end was so off base. Evan tells a person he "loves" how he played her for a fool and she just falls into his arms the moment he says he loves her? Most the time I flipped the pages because the characters inner thoughts were so repetitive. So much more could have been done with the "idea." It was a good concept in theory but it was obvious they were playing her from the start. I mean who finds out they are with their boyfriends "dad" and doesn't ask questions immediately? Jess was just as bad she didn't even like Pierce from the beginning. The were all horrible people. Read other J.C. books but leave this one at the store!!!!
